II. Subject title: Contemporary Continental Philosophy

III. Course Description:

This course provides students with an overview of the ket movements of 20th century philosophy. The central tenets of American pragmatism, Existentialism and Phenomenology will be discussed in the context of excerpts and selected works from various contemporary thinkers. A brief analysis on the rise of analytic movement will also be addressed.

IV. Prerequisite: Phlo113

V. Credit: Three (3) Units

VI. Objectives

Cognitive:

Systematically analyze the current trends of western thought.

Appreciate the significance of modern day philosophizing.

Authentically apply the different philosophical traditions in the realm of human existence.
