School Year 1988 - 1989

The AB Philosophy Program was proposed by Mr. Dante Añonuevo, then the Chair of the De La Salle University-Dasmariñas Social Sciences Department. The primary target students were seminarians who were taking the AB Philosophy course in different schools and seminaries in Metro Manila due to the closure of the program being offered by the SVD. A survey was done in all seminaries in the Diocese of Imus with the enthusiastic support of the late Monsignor Perez, Bishop of the Diocese of Imus. Since most of the seminarians were already enrolled in various seminaries and schools offering the program, the result of the survey was unsatisfactory. Dr.Oscar Bautista was not convinced on the number of student-beginners in Philosophy which was about 11 freshmen and and about 8 Philosophy Professors. The program was scrapped and Mr. Segismundo Sim, who took over as Chair of the Social Sciences Department, continued his predecessor's goal of persuading the administrators to continue the proposed AB Philosophy Program.
