II. COURSE TITLE : History of Ancient Philosophy

III. COURSE DESCRIPTION :

This course is a study of doctrines and views of ancient philosophers from the pre-socratics to Plotinus. It covers significant historical events which influenced early attempts to conceptualize the meaning of reality.

IV. PREREQUISITE : None

V. CREDIT : Three (3) units

VI. OBJECTIVES :

Cognitive:

To understand and analyze the views and doctrines of ancient philosophers.

Affective:

To appreciate the importance of ancient philosophy in interpreting the development of some great ideas that have helped shape the world.

Psychomotor:

To be able to write and articulate sound opinion on the thought of ancient philosophers.
